Our Story
Our mission is to bring smart contracts to the world so that anyone can create a smart contract for their business easily, quickly, and trust that it has been written in a secure way.
A bit about our history
I founded and ran a SaaS software company called Cosential. For over 20 years, I bootstrapped it. We grew to around 120 employees and then I sold the majority of my stock in the company. I learned through trial and error how to build true enterprise software. Cosential had (and still has) the largest market share in the construction industry for CRM and proposal automation—larger than the major players so, by this time, I know a thing or two about building software for the enterprise. I am very proud of what we built at Cosential. We were honored to be voted one of the best places to work at in Austin, Texas for 2019 and 2020, and that’s a high bar for any software company. I intend to create a healthy, vibrant company that’s fun to work for and that has real core values that are meaningful and that we live every day.
And now our future
As I began looking for my next project, I realized that the concept of smart contracts really can become the future of enterprise software so I have devoted the last six months to learning everything I can about it. What I learned is that, in my opinion, Cardano has the highest likelihood of succeeding for enterprise software.
I’ve assembled a great team of expert developers to build a tool that will make it incredibly easy for anyone to make a smart contract using Cardano. In my learning, making a smart contract requires programming, understanding security, and understanding how to write good code, so it’s really something for experts. My goal is to make it available for anyone. BTW we are hiring, so if you know or know someone who knows Marlow, is a Plutus Pioneer, or has a passion for high quality maintainable code, send them our way.
Start to finish, create a smart contract in as few clicks and as little time as possible, removing all the complexity and by doing this using a templates idea very much like many others do for websites, email marketing, and so on and so forth.
The name Monkey Contracts is meant to show that even a monkey could build a smart contract. That’s a whimsical idea, but that is really our core value—real powerful enterprise software that is super easy to use.
